Continuous school improvement
ODST schools have a strong culture of continuous improvement, striving to provide a high-quality, enriching education for children and a supportive, development-focused environment for staff.
Bespoke support and challenge
Our team of School Improvement Advisers have extensive headship and advisory experience and support school leaders with individual plans that take into account each school's strengths, areas for development and unique context. Self-evaluation, school visits and peer reviews form part of an annual cycle designed to support every school to provide the best for its community.
Strong networks to share expertise
Sharing experience and expertise between schools is one of the cornerstones of the ODST family. Shared learning, joint working and school-to-school support is encouraged and promoted through geographical hubs, subject networks, and school leaders meetings.
Schools with established successes support others who may be developing their work in specific areas, and experienced leaders mentor newer headteachers to support their leadership journey. Schools new to ODST join a strong and growing family, with support structures designed to meet their initial needs as well as long term development plans.
Transforming schools in need
ODST has a strong reputation for welcoming schools in need of rapid improvement and building a positive, sustainable future for them. Staged intervention plans identify key priorities for improvement, provide enhanced SIA support, and ensure an approach focused on the needs of children and staff.
