Become a Local Governing Body member or Clerk
We are always interested in hearing from individuals who would like to join us as a Local Governing Body Member or Clerk to a Local Governing Body.
Local Governing Body Members
Local Governing Body Members are volunteers who play a vital role in shaping the education of children and young people, by helping to set the ethos, vision, and strategy for our schools. It's a rewarding opportunity, and one that can also help you use and build on your professional skills in a variety of areas. We offer a range of training to support your work.

Clerks to Local Governing Bodies
Clerking is a paid, part-time and term-time role that supports the work of our Local Governing Bodies (LGBs). The role involves preparing agendas and papers for LGB meetings, producing minutes and liaising with the Chair of the LGB and Headteacher. The role is home-based with the exception of attending approximately six governing body meetings a year.
