Headteacher's big jump for Brize Norton
The headteacher of Brize Norton Primary is taking on a sponsored skydive to raise money for her school.
Anna Fairhurst plans to leap out of a plane on 11th April, as part of a fundraising effort at the small village primary. Anna said she is 'more than a little bit nervous', but that her big jump will be worth it.
She hopes to raise £2000 to enhance the school's facilities. It will provide new indoor space to enable more children to attend the school in the future, while still retaining its small class sizes and a village feel. The school has already secured most of the funding through the Brize Norton School Association and ODST, and hopes parents and the community will support the sponsored skydive to reach the final target.
Pupils at Brize Norton already benefit from excellent outdoor space, including a garden, allotment and wildlife area, which is currently being refreshed to host a school gardening club.
