ODST INSET day: Inclusion and SEND
ODST schools took part in a whole-trust INSET day on Monday 4 November, focused on SEND and Inclusion.
The day was designed to offer training for all staff including teaching assistants and other support staff, teachers and leaders, and to address some key issues together as a family of schools.
Sessions included a keynote from trainer, TEDx speaker and Senior Leader, Amjad Ali, as well as an insight from ODST headteachers and SENCOs about different aspects of managing SEND and inclusion in their schools. A wide range of afternoon sessions were run by many teachers, leaders and SENDCos from across the trust, with staff able to choose sessions relevant to their role.
The INSET day is one of a number of initiatives to support schools in managing SEND and inclusion, and will be followed by seminars aimed at teaching assistants, a SENDCo conference and other future training for teachers and leaders.
